KC Lehr is a 1993 graduate of Big Piney High School. During his athletic career, KC was a three sport standout and earned all-conference recognition in each of his sports. As a football player, KC was All-State in both his junior and senior years. He was selected to the Rocky Mountain All-Conference team at both his quarterback and defensive back positions in those two years as well. He was also selected to the Casper Star's Super 25 and culminated his high school football career as a participant in the 1993 Shrine Bowl. Perhaps as impressive is KC's track accomplishments where he stood atop the awards stand at the Wyoming State Track meet no less than six times as an individual champion over his four years and greatly contributed to the teams' runner-up finish at the state meet on two occasions. He currently holds the school records in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m runs. His time of 1:58.48 in the 800m marks the first and only time any Puncher has ran a sub two minute 800m. KC was also selected as the Southwest Administrative Districts Student/Athlete of the Year and was also awarded the Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award. These awards along with his student leadership qualities and his athletic accomplishments enabled KC to be selected as one of the finalist for the prestigious Milward Simpson Award, perhaps the highest honor given to Wyoming high school student/athletes. KC continued his athletic career at Dakota State University in Mitchell, South Dakota, as a two sport letter winner in football and baseball.
