Scott Davis was one of the last four sport letter winners at Big Piney High School. This all-around athlete earned thirteen letters while performing as a Puncher. In addition, he earned local, conference or state honors in each of the four sports.
As a basketball player, Scott Davis helped lead a talented Puncher team into three state tournaments where he and his Puncher team mates qualified for the Consolation Championship each year and brought home two consolation trophies. He was selected to the All-Tournament team at the regional tournament in his junior year. At the conclusion of his senior season, Scott Davis was presented the Jesse Gault Award for his performances on the basketball court.
In football, Scott again earned three varsity letters. He was selected to the Second Team All-Conference as both a tight end and as a linebacker. He was selected to the KMER All-Star team in his senior season. Lastly, he was awarded the team's Most Valuable Player Award in 1984.
Wyoming All-State honors were bestowed on athlete Davis for his third place finish as a diver at the Wyoming State Swim Meet. During his four years as a swimming letter winner, the Puncher teams finished as state runners-up in 1982, 1983, and 1984.
As a trackster, Davis qualified for the Wyoming State Championships in all three of his years as a Puncher track letter winner. In 1985, his school record throw of 140’1” set a school record and helped lead the Punchers to a third place finish at the state meet.
At the end of the 1984/85 school year, Scott Davis was awarded Big Piney’s All-Around Athlete Award that concluded an outstanding athletic career as a Puncher.
