Jim Greenwood is a 1980 graduate of Big Piney High School and was a standout in both basketball and football. Jim was awarded letters in each of the sports for all four of his years. As a football player, Jim was selected to the SW All-Conference team as a junior and a senior and was named to the Class B All-State team as a senior. He helped his Puncher teams to the state championship in 1977 and to a runner-up finish in the 1979 season. In basketball, Jim was again selected to the SW All-Conference team in both his junior and senior years. After the Punchers received the second place trophy at the 1979 Wyoming State Basketball tournament, a position on the Class B All-State team was awarded to Jim by the coaches from around the state. Outside the athletic arena, Jim was selected as a junior to attend the American Legion's Boys State. Keeping with the “Tradition Never Rests” theme of the Big Piney Athletic Hall of Fame, Jim's value as a Puncher was not over. As the year's passed, Jim fathered three sons all of whom have followed in his footsteps by winning state championships as well as receiving All-State honors.
