investigation #9
they make you feel
sticky notes, fountain pen, alcohol marker, glue-stick
5x5.9"
I wanted to make a piece with my new fountain pen, so I started with ideas that I had at the time. I decided that I wanted to create a piece where the goblins weren't exactly the main focus point, but more like the secondary focus. Which is something I hadn't done with any of my SI's.
I got the idea for sticky notes when I sketched out what I wanted my final piece to resemble, and started ripping different colored sticky notes to get the rough shape. I used a glue-stick to get the sticky note pieces on the page, a fountain pen for the line-art, and then for the background I used an alcoholic marker.
I wanted the piece to feel "layery", so I overlapped sticky note cut-outs, and I also wanted the whole piece to feel sketchy, so the cutouts I made very imperfect. I used an alcohol marker because its streaky, and adds to the "sketchy" feel.
