plumed eyeballs
colored pencils, watercolor, paper towel
10x9.25"
This piece is what my ideas of what a living abstract thing would look like. Something with physically relatable features but nothing else makes sense. Although my investigation is on movement and living abstract objects, I wanted to see what would come out of a hard focus on the living aspect.
I started with a brain dump sketch session and ended up with this idea as my piece. I used colored pencils for the "objects", then used watercolor on paper towels and positioned their folds whilst they were drying.
I used paper towels for the background/foreground because I wanted to incorporate an inanimate object in its physical form, while the "living form" is on paper. Part of the piece is the idea of irony in a way.
