I made this piece with the idea of being "stressed". I didn't want it to be obvious, but I wanted telltale signs to show that he is stressed. So I surrounded him with clocks, and candles.

The background of this piece is made with watercolor, foreground with gouache and colored pencil and the candles are made with encaustics (wax).

I wanted to show that this character is stressed because he is running out of time. And things like clocks and almost finished candles are used to represent and show that this characters time is almost up. I also used an eery, red+black combination for the background because red represents stress.
