Post Critique Reflection

I feel like you can see a quick improvement, going from purple greed to irony angel. I think I quickly got a little more comfortable with the investigations structure and actually started making art that I thought was fun. But I feel like around #3, be quick it's almost time, I started investigating different materials. Although it was small at first, like the little encaustics candles in #3, it slowly increased. Especially when getting to goblin activities, there are no familiar materials whatsoever. Most of my works so far I am proud of from the AP standpoint, but as an artist looking into my pieces I feel not so proud of most of them for some reason. I think my pieces feel kind of stiff, which is strange because the whole purpose of these creatures (goblins)- in my head are supposed to very flowy and care free. So I want to incorporate that into the pieces more, because that's what I like to make. Flowy unproportional creatures. Although I still want to do it in a way where it works with the emotions of the creatures. Say for example the creature is sad, I'd make long arms drooping off down and a long face. And I think if I feel like I'm having fun with my art, that will hopefully translate to the viewer. I also think I will work with borders more, because I really love when a subject is extending out from the border. But the big thing I'm not really sure about is how to use materials that synthesize with my pieces more. Like obviously wax for candles, but how do I do that with goblins. I was thinking that I could focuse on the emotion of the character more and base my materials off of that. So again, with a sad creature I could use something like encaustics to create drips. Not only do I get to create more texture, but I think the viewer gets a better feeling of the emotion.
