Robert Cabral's Story:

Robert's experience in the war quickly made a man out of him. At age seventeen he dropped out of Provincetown High School and made a deal with his father, that if Robert stayed and worked with his father on boats for the summer then he would sign for Robert to enlist in war. That Fall Mr. Cabral went into the Navy working as a Seabee. His experience in the navy was very unusual because he went to so many different places including night trips to China. He also survived three incredible typhoons, one of which, he lost everything in and it broke up his entire barge. After Robert's short andventure in the war ended, he fell inlove and as he says, "got married for life". They had four kids together and he now owns Fisherman's Wharf in Provincetown. Before Robert's journey in the war he had never even left Cape Cod and the things he learned and experienced in World War II made him grow up fast.
