Kenneth Archambault's Story:

Kenneth Archambault was born in 1946 in Methuen, Massachusetts. He grew up with his his two sisters and mother father. After finishing high school and going off to college Kenneth struggled with his grades and decided he wanted to join the army before he was drafted into the infantry. He decided to join and look into Aviation and becoming a helicopter pilot. Kenneth officially joined the Vietnam War at the age of 18. After joining he and the other new recruits were shipped down south for 2 months of basic training. Their the men were whipped into shape with the basics, running and push ups. And the basic army tactics the men needed for entering war. Then kenneth went to 9 months of flight school and after that medical training . Where he learned the basics, how to take a pulse, and most importantly how to priorities what wounds needed more attention and which were too far gone to spend time on. Kenneth served 24 for hour shifts every other day switching out with another crew every day. He served active duty for 4 years. After the war he retired, met and married his wife patty and had his two children wendy and jason. He settled down in Brewster Massachusetts and became a carpenter. But seeing a helicopter go by overhead one day reminded him of how much he loved flying. So he joined the army national guard where he flew helicopters and trained young pilots going into war. He worked in the national guard for 18 years before fully retiring to his home in brewster. Currently Kenneth spends his summers with his family on Cape Cod and goes for long winter vacations in ey west florida every year.
