Jeffrey Alan DiLauro's Story:

Jeffrey Alan DiLauro was born in Marlboro, MA on May 10^th, 1967. He moved to Cape Cod in 1979 and has lived here

ever since, with the exception of the military. When he was a kid he was one of the "Sea Explorers" and they took a

trip to the Chatham Coast Guard Station, which is when he decided he wanted to join the Coast Guard.

Jeff DiLauro joined the Coast Guard before he graduated high school. In September 1985 he began boot camp

where he spent a couple "grueling" months and then served in Nantucket, MA. Two years later in October 1987 he

went to Karagaburn, Turkey, where he served for a year. Between 1989 and 1992 he served at a Small Boat Station in

Chatham, MA.

Jeff preformed Law Enforcement Detachment with OTIS between May 1992 and Jan. 1994. While doing this he

served in the North Red Sea, Egypt, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Panama Canal. In the Persian

Gulf War he did drug enforcement and U.N sanctions, and searched boats. Because of their searching abilities they

were used in the war to board and search the boats to make sure that nothing illegal was entering the country that

could kill or harm the American troops, such as drugs, weapons, or anything that could be used to make weapons.

While in the Coast Guard he achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2^nd class.

He currently lives in Brewster, MA with his wife and two daughters. Jeff is the owner and operator of the Olde Cape

Car Wash in Orleans.
