Allen Etch Corbett's Story

Allen Corbett is a husband, father, veteran and survivor. Before the war, Allen, age nineteen, was at home with his family of ten. Allen's family was struggling financially and had a hard time getting food on the table. When Allen received a letter from Uncle Sam saying "I want you." He willingly went off to serve. Corbett fought in multiple conflicts like, Battle Of The Bulge the third most lethal American battle, D-Day also known as Normandy Landings which is the most lethal battle estimated by the number of Americans killed in WWII. During WWII Allen drove trucks filled with octane gas and bombs onto barges. Through any weather he was out hauling bombs and listening to any order he was given. While Allen was serving the rare amount of free time he had was spent in a truck driving around. When Allen came home he started his family and settled down. Today, he lives in Eastham, MA
