Mando Borgatti's Story:
Mando Borgatti was drafted into the service at a time of desperate need for our country; the Korean War. Thrown into Frankfort, Germany he began his journey through the fight. Mando felt alone and mistreated during this time. He was harassed and monitored every second. While in Korea he had reoccurring thoughts of home as each dream he had turned to nightmares getting worse and worse.
He found his pride in endurance activities such as hiking. He feels that his finest moment during his service was the mountain climb; only a few hundred would climb it and even less made it to the top. Mando made it to the top without any source of fluids, as he stared back at his comrades drinking out of the sewers; searching desperately for water he stood tall, laughed, and emptied his water on the ground.
He always said that the Air Force was a more suitable place for him; well treated, equality, stronger relationships with his relatives. When all was said and done Mando returned home welcomed by open arms and he was never going back.
