Stephen Nicolle's Story:

Mr. Nicolle is one of the many hero's to have fought in the Vietnam War. Stephen Nicolle had a very good childhood, growing up in Wollaston, Massachusetts and then moving down to Cohasset, Massachusetts. Mr. Nicolle got to have a delayed enlistment, meaning he could finish his college education and then be enlisted in the service, which he did so in 1969. Since he enlisted into the Vietnam war, Mr. Nicolle started off as an Airman in the Air Force and finally went on to become a Buck Sergeant in supply, where he was assigned to a top secret project at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California. The top secret project was a missile project, which had him launching satellites. After his four years of service in the military, Mr. Nicolle was able to retire from the military and go about his life. He knew that he wanted to be in conservation after his service, so he found his first job at Scusset Beach State Reservation on the Cape Cod Canal. From there, he worked at Nickerson State Park in Brewster, Massachusetts and spent almost twenty years there as the superintendent. Mr. Nicolle then went on to work at the Trustees of Reservation on Nantucket Island for fourteen years and then about a year ago, he retired and moved back down to Brewster, Massachusetts, where he currently resides.

Denver, Colorado is where Mr. Nicolle trained at Lowry Air Force Base.

Lompoc, California is where Mr. Nicolle was a part of a top secret missile launching project.
