Meaghan O'Connell's Story:

Meaghan O'Connell is a 38 year-old woman in the Navy Reserves, and lived on Cape Cod until she was 15. She was a warehouse manager before joining the Navy, and now she's a supply officer in the Navy. That means she makes sure everyone has what they need to live. She has a lot of memories of having fun, mainly playing Frisbee/darts for hours on end to forget about everything that went on.

When she was younger, she would always spend time with her family and go to the beach. She loved living on the Cape because, as she said, "it was a nice place" (0:36-0:49).

When she was 30 years old, she decided to enlist into the Navy because she wanted to serve her country. Her family had mixed reactions because she was already "old", but throughout the time and currently, they are supportive of her.

As a navy reserve officer, she would make sure everyone had the supplies they needed to survive. She was never in combat, and she was lucky that she never had to face someone in battle.

It was hard for her to adjust to her environment because she was a little bit older than most people in the military and most of the people there were male. But after awhile, she got used to it and became friends with many people.

She served in Afghanistan and Eastern Africa during her years overseas. She is still in the military.
