Louis Pells' Story

Louis H. Pells was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. Then, continued after the war to live in Rhinebeck, New York. When he was 18, he attended Green Mountain College in Vermont. From there, he was drafted into the military. Pells was sent to Texas where he completed basic training. Then, once his multiple months in training were completed, he was put on a train to Western Massachusetts. At last, he was shipped to Scotland. From Scotland, he went to Belgium. There, began The Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Pells fought against German forces. However, after walking many miles, Mr. Pells suffered from what is called "trench foot". Because of the pain from his feet, Pells was sent home, to the United States.

Mr. Pells is a very musically talented person. He is currently known for his expertise in the Sousaphone and tuba. He has a wife, Ann Pells, and four children, Gail, Leah, John, and Mark. His family continues on with his four grandchildren, Kyle, Ross, Ryley and Hannah. Followed by his four great-grandchildren, Aedyn, Tate, Emery, and Paxton.

Pells lives in East Harwich with his wife and two fluffy black cats, Muffy and Jessie. Lou Pells is greatly respected by his community and will forever be honored as a brave war veteran by his family, friends, and others who know his story.
