Gabriel Selfe's Story:

Gabriel Selfe was a just a regular kid growing up on Cape Cod. Throughout his childhood and teenage years he was exposed to the military because his father was in the military. It's a tradition for the men in Gabe's family to go into the Military. His father, his grandfather and his grandfather's father all were in the military.

Like many high school kids, Gabe admits getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. Because of this, right after graduating from Nauset Regional High School, Gabe joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he served for a total of nine years on three different tours from 1997-2006.

Gabe served in the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf. Along with this he served in Iraq, Afghanistan and the United Kingdom. At one point, Gabe and his crew spent 113 days at sea. According to Gabe, the darkest moment of his experience in the Navy was having to analyze videos of bombs hitting buildings that were seen as threats and he said that he saw some pretty sad things in those videos.

Gabe currently resides in Brewster, Massachusetts where he is self employed at a hot tub/ spa maintenance and repair shop. He enjoys fishing.
