Richard Connolly's Story:

Richard Connolly was born in Brockton, MA on November 24, 1933.


After highschool, he enlisted into the US Marine Corps in September of 1953. As a sophomore and junior, he went through a 6 week bootcamp, and then went on to 7 months of Basic school in Quantico, VA once he graduated. He eventually ended up in Camp Lejeune, NC in the 2nd tank battalion as a radio officer. He also instructed men for some time in the Marine Corps.


In all 7 years of his service he never saw battle. Even after active duty, he felt the need to continue in the Marines, and joined the Marine Corp Reserves . He stayed in the reserves for over 10 years, and only decided to leave because of restrictions from his job.


Nowadays, he lives retired in Yarmouth, MA.
