Francis Medeiros' Story;

Francis Medeiros grew up in a town filled with fisherman. He didn't know what to do with his life and because he was always around water fishing he decided to join the Navy. He went at the end of his teenage life and came out his mid twenties. He has said that joining the navy has changed him from a young boy to a real man. He doesn't regret anything from the war and he was glad to meet new friends and maintain great friendships throughout the Korean war. He was a electrician and he would work on the electrical equipment and make sure everything is good and working. He had to go through basic training like everyone else but he has told me he is very lucky he didn't have to fight and be in combat. He is now home , he cant do much he had surgery and cant move around to much but he is glad he entered the war and doesn't regret anything from it.

A quote from my grandpa during the interview really shows how the war affected him.
