David Marriott's Story:
David Marriott was a medic in the Operation Enduring Freedom war in Afghanistan. He grew up in Peekskill, New York with an interest in war and its history. He has been serving our country from the young age of 19 when he enlisted after realizing that it would be a better choice for him than college. Throughout his career, he has traveled and made memories while fighting alongside his colleagues. Some locations include Okinawa, the Philippines, Norway, Diego Garcia, and obviously, Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, Mr. Marriott made some lifelong friends while helping his brothers and sisters with their basic medical needs and courageously defending his country. While he was away, he also had many interactions with locals from that area and picked up many souvenirs from those places, such as jewelry, a traditional Afghan rug, and more. His experience was quite remarkable and will stay with him forever.
Mr. Marriott is still a member of the Army National Guard and will be for about six more years. He is currently a plumber and lives with his wife and son. His honorable decision to help serve and defend our country is greatly appreciated.
