Harry Today

" I really don’t remember what it was, it could have been our own rounds going off,
for all I know.

There was so much firing going on, but all the sudden I noticed

there was a ringing in my ear and it just never went away again. " (14:30)

Harry Hinkle's Story:

Harry Hinkle grew up in a normal home with his mother and father in Darby, Pennsylvania. He went to high school and was an amazing wrestler. When he turned 18 he and a friend went on a road trip to California. From there he went to college for 2 years and heard about the war in Vietnam. He decided to enlist in the war, and contribute his service. His family didn't react much, his father and Grandfather had both enlisted in older wars. He went to boot camp for about a year and then was shipped off to Vietnam. He served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. After Vietnam, he served in the Persian Gulf War.

After he was done serving as a soldier, he went to Fort Meade and worked on intelligence missions under NSA. He worked on classified projects like Project Blue Book, which dealt with finding out if aliens exist. He also worked on other phenomena like if the Japanese had nuclear weapons before us. He spent thirty years of his life in the Marines. Thirteen of those years were spent as an enlisted soldier, and the rest were spent as an officer. The highest rank he achieved while serving was Captain. He currently works at Nauset High School as the assistant wrestling coach.
