Dean Schofield's Story:

Born into a military family Dean Schofield was destined for the armed forces. He provided the building blocks with which the Army succeeded with. The Navy Sea Bees were the engineers of the Navy they created everything from housing to armor barracks. Mr. Schofield was a leader every time he went over to Vietnam. His battalion ran a rock quarry on his second tour giving the other Sea Bees materials to work with. While they were working at the rock quarry they saved marines from a Vietnamese ambush. This also happened to be one thing he was proudest about. Without the work he and his battalion did, the military would be a bunch of men with no where to go and nothing to protect them. Mr. Schofield was a leader and role model in the Vietnam war. When he was sent home the final time, he remained in the reserves, then he became a civil engineer. He is retired today with 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren and a loving wife; they have been married for 52 years.
