Lawrence Biron's Story:

Lawrence is a peaceful man, as he states "Being in medical there's a tendency to want to help people rather than harm people." He continued to follow his beliefs in having a peaceful world while still among the terrors of war.

Lawrence Biron grew up in South Hadley, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1971 from high school. He then decided to join the navy by being picked in the lottery. Lawrence Biron joined the U.S. Navy in April 1972. Lawrence went to San Diego, Japan, and lastly stationed in North Carolina. While serving Lawrence worked in the medical field and was aConscientious objector. While in Japan Lawrence experienced Japan's culture and was very involved in the local community. Lawrence had many cultural experiences while in Japan and appreciated it's beautiful art, architecture and people. Lawrence found such interest in Japan's art that after the war he decided to go into the visual arts. What he took away from his time in Japan was getting to experience a different country and it's cultural aspects.

After he left the war, he went to Springfield College and graduated in 1986 and received his master's in recreation. Lawrence has been married for 23 years and has two daughters. He owns two galleries called Cove Gallery and co owns a gallery, two in Chatham, MA and one in Welfleet, MA. Lawrence also does framework for the galleries as an addition service to his customers. During his free time Lawrence plays drums and visits family in Western Massachusetts.
