Russ Kimball's Story:

Russ Kimball joined the Coast Guard after graduating from high school. He served for 4 years doing electronic work on the ship and helped towing ships and other things that he was asked to do on the ship.He went to take a battery test and passed the first time and ended up being a ET2 which is an Electronic Technician 2nd class. He worked on radar and LORAN which was a long range radio navigation, it was usually stationed on low range islands.He also traveled to Guantanamo Bay and other countries towing ships and working on radio navigation. In the beginning of Mr.Kimball's training for the military he did boot camp in Cape Mary, NJ, then moved onto to take his ET test in Gratin Ct which he got a very high score on. He then left for Portland ME which was were his ship the Barataria was stationed and his Coast Guard years began. Mr.Kimball left the Coast Guard after 4 years of service and worked in the electronic field as a technician. Later in his life he then decided to open his own business teaching people to fly and doing air sightseeing. He currently lives in Eastham with his wife and is still running his flight business in Provincetown MA.
