At Doha College, the wellbeing of every pupil is at the heart of what we do. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting each child’s personal development, we are introducing STEER for pupils in Year 3 and above , a wellbeing assessment platform that helps us better understand how our pupils are feeling and managing life at school. Please don’t be alarmed by the term ‘Assessment’. It is the platform’s terminology for ‘Survey’ or ascertaining their thoughts and feelings.

Through STEER, we will be able to hear every child’s voice formally three times a year, allowing us to track patterns over time and adapt our pastoral and academic support accordingly. This helps us ensure that every pupil, whether in primary, or secondary, receives the right support at the right time.
The STEER platform provides valuable insights to inform meaningful conversations between school and home, strengthening our shared responsibility for each child’s wellbeing. All data is securely stored and handled in full compliance with GDPR regulations.
The assessments (surveys) do not need to be prepared for in advance. They will take place in November and will be conducted on pupils’ iPads. The assessments are 10 mins in duration.
Key messages from STEER:
The STEER assessment helps us hear your child’s voice, every term, every year.
It will help us give your child the right support at the right time.
Your child’s STEER data will inform conversations between school and home, so we can work together to support your child.
Your child’s data is securely stored in line with GDPR.
Our mission is always to ensure that every child feels known, supported, and able to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We are confident that STEER will be an effective further tool in our wellbeing provision across the College and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have.

The countdown is on!
The Doha College Battle of the Bands will take place in our Auditorium on Wednesday, 22nd October, from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm. This exciting competition will feature ten talented finalist groups, each performing for the chance to be crowned this year’s winner and represent Doha College at the National Battle of the Bands in April 2026.
We warmly invite friends and families of our finalists to come along and show their support. Please arrive from 2.30 pm to secure your seats and enjoy our bake sale before the show begins. The doors will open at 2.50 pm, and entry is QAR 10 per person, payable in cash at the door.
