the frightful wight is a being that naturally produces darkness around itself, it is like a halfway point between a ghoul and a lich. the wight looks like a regular person/demi-human from a distance but up close you can see a black aura around it if it is wearing a hood it is impossible to see the face inside the hood even with a light, when there isnt a hood the head is much like a zombies head only minus any indications of rotting and all hair is pale white and finally the eyes of a wight glow a bright red or green and its mouth hangs open but never produces sound.
Culture
the frightful wight is the real reason adventurers are always in groups. a single adventurer fighting a wright will be a death waiting to happen and near impossible to reverse. the wight is one of the few undead that do not eat and the only undead that makes no noise. unless you hear its light footsteps the wight makes no other noises making it difficult to keep track of in the midst of other undead. in addition it is the only non-intellegent undead that doesnt seek victims, if an enemy never comes before a wight the wight will simple stand there aimlessly for all of time
when in combat the wight only has one way of attacking: touch. every successful touch from a wight will drain you of a level increasing the level of the wight the effects of a wight gaining a level are it gets another roll to add to its max HP (and by consequence its current HP), increased chance to hit, and reduced chance to be hit. should somone be drained to level 0 they will be turned into a wight themselves. with the exception of those converted into wights whenever a wight is slain those who had lost levels to the wight in question regain them upon the death of the wight(the experience they lost is returned to them, purposely feeding a wight levels only to easily regain them will not be boosted easily to levels that require more experience)
enemies that are too close to a wight will be effected by its fear aura while this aura has little effect if it hasnt gained a level before as it gains level from touching your party you will quickly find your allies flying into a panic, collapsing in fear, or simply running away. should the wight touch a living thing that doesnt have levels such as a plant or baby it will be counted as level 0 and with no level to drain the secondary effect of a wights touch will kick in: all things it touches will rapidly wilt until the leaves, stems, and flesh dry up and crumble. if somthing was already level 0 when it was touched it does not become a wight
