wargs are sentient wolves double the size, intellect, and cruelty of a normal wolf and are the only animal that even wood elves have ever referred to as "deserve extinction"
Culture
for some sentience is a way to escape selfishness and rise to be something more caring more...good. not so for the warg, the warg attained sentience and used it as a way to enjoy the suffering it can bring. while wolves hunt purely for food the warg hunts for victims once a victim is found it will drag the creature to its lair and promptly rip its legs off so that he may enjoy watching the desperate creature as it either bleeds to death or heals enough for the warg to wound it more.
occasionally wargs grow tired of such a simple lifestyle and will seek out ways to deal suffering on a larger scale, they eventually found the perfect scapegoat to wreak out pain: greenskins. the stupid greenskins are constantly rampaging so they made for perfect allies, the greenskins got a mount that isnt constantly trying to kill them (unlike the warboar) and the wargs found a way to bring suffering to everything in their wake. a match made in the darkest pit of hell
while they are not trying to kill their riders they are nonetheless always trying to think of ways to bring their riders pain. for example if the ork is distracted by somthing the warg will chew on its riders legs so that, since the orks have a heavily numbed sense of pain, once the ork gets off it will be incapable of walking due to its ripped tendons
while wargs are most commonly seen as ork mount they arent picky with their riders, as long as its evil and will ride into battle a warg will happily allow itself to be ridden. so it isnt uncommon for wargs to also be ridden by gnoll chieftains smart enough to be evil.
while a warg will happily become a mount they will never allow themselves to become cattle like the warboar so while the orks are allowed to ride them if any ork tries to kill one of them all the wargs will rip that ork asunder
History
wargs are very commonly smarter or even braver the their rider in ork society, ork warbosses know this so when they have strategies that common orks are too stupid to understand they have the warg riders handle it. not because the warg riders are smarter then most orks but because the wargs can make up for where their riders fail. additionally the warg saddle is specifically made so that the ork riding the warg cannot escape it on their own. allowing the warg to decided when it stays in the battle or when it leaves
