the worlds largest predatory bird this enormous eagle is the only creature capable of competing with dragons for prey. roc look exactly like their smaller counterparts with the only exception being the roc's teeth in its beak to help with attacking and ripping apart its prey
Culture
the roc is a creature that easily scares children but for most intelligent creatures the roc is nothing more then a farm nuisance. creatures like humans, elves, orcs, etc are all too small for a roc to waste its energy to capture and even a cow is too small for a full grown roc, but it will still steal one if it has young since a cow is the perfect size for feeding baby roc
roc are the hunters of the biggest creatures on this planet these creature include kraken, leviathans, dinosaurs, elephants, whales, hydras, etc. somtimes multiple rocs will even work together to take down a behemoth: a creature even dragons dont hunt
the roc is a clever creature, and while it will happily 1v1 a kraken to the bitter end when it faces a foe it knows it cant beat it will immediately run away and should it face a foe it is unsure of, such as an adventurer party or loxodon, it will run the moment it looks like its in danger or if the effort isnt worth the risk
History
the roc is, in some cultures, seens as a bad omen. these cultures usually live in areas where the weather is erratic and unpredictable. these areas will suffer immensely as the roc's powerful wings accidentally push storm clouds in the wrong direction or completely redirect the wind
