Similar to zombies skeletons are the easiest undead to summon what they lack in strength of a zombie they make up in speed. being entirely capable of chasing any foe its summoner wills even without numerical advantage
Culture
The skeleton is a necromancers best friend. easy to summon, fast enough to chase enemies, great in large numbers, easy to get into large numbers, dont require payment, and can be given better armor and weapons to increase strength. its unlikely that even powerful necromancers wont have many such skeletons at his beck and call
a skeleton is a general term. pretty much any monster, human, or animal has a skeleton so a skeleton of a minotaur will be far more helpful then a skeleton of a rodent. but both can fit the description above. but it should be noted that animal skeletons can not use items
History
a skeleton that a necromancer has worked especially hard on may have the ability to re-form after destruction. these skeletons however will always be of powerful monsters instead of common humans
