the Vile harpies are the bane of humans, halfings, and gnomes these grotesque creatures are vulture everywhere except the main body and head which is that of a old hag.
Culture
ironically this disgusting creature's main form of attack is charm. the harpy is able to sing in a beautiful melody making whoever hears it entranced and passive, even when being attacked. the harpy can sing and attack at the same time and as long as the harpy continues to sing those that are effected by it will not break free. singing makes the harpy unable to bite, losing that attack per round
hearing even a single note will prompt the saving throw so one cannot react to a song fast enough to cover ones ears but if they know there are harpies in the area they can prep for such a fight by filling their ears with somthing. successful saving throws vrs a harpy makes them immune to that harpies song for a full day
harpies attack frantically biting and clawing at the same time, if one has a weapon that replaces one of their clawing attacks. harpies find enjoyment out of others pain and can even argue amongst themselves over when to torture and when to eat. harpies breed by raping those entranced by their song, they do not mind doing this as they eat them
History
on very VERY rare occasions a harpy is born with beauty these 'harpy queens' easily amass a large following of servant harpies, both of these things drive such harpies to arrogance and that arrogance drives her servile harpies to jealousy. an intelligent adventurer could notice and perhaps take advantage of this
