Looking like a more barbaric one-eyed giant the cyclops are a rare sight anywhere but the most secluded of areas
Culture
the cyclops, while giant, are not related to giants. these stupid creatures are distant descendants of poseidon. and because of which they hold a strange level of arrogance about them this arrogance encourages them to not bother thinking in combat, a cyclops despite having at least a stupid level of intellect will never try to think of things even somthing stupid would think of. preferring instead to madly charge at the thing in front of them or throw rocks at them as if they had an intellect of 1
when throwing rocks a cyclops lack of depth perception quickly turns into a handicap. frankly, their aim is terrible. while their throw is less precision more luck their capabilities in melee are far greater. with their size and strength even their simple club packs an immense wallop and should you try to strike back the thick natural hide of a cyclops will protect it even if it has no armor
that said when out of combat the cyclops still try to survive and when one lives so far away from even the most basic of civilizations one needs to be able to farm, hunt, or fish. and cyclops will engage in all of the above. while cyclops dislike all forms of plant-related foods they will still make farms in case hunting or fishing failed and their herd animals arent fat enough to eat. and considering how clumsy and loud the cyclops are this is a more common scenario then you might think
the cyclops is generally unenthusiastic about fighting. because of which they shy away from settlements and heavily armored groups that will put up a fight but arent above attacking a small unprepared caravan, survivors of a boat crash, or a singular citizen.
History
while most cyclops are only distant relatives to poseidon Polyphemus was a direct descendant, his son. because of this when a greek hero had blinded Polyphemus he had incurred poseidons wrath.
