nerubians are giant spider men with 6 legs and 2 arms. despite being 'spider-men' they dont really look humanoid anywhere, they can be compared to driders where the dark elf portion has been replaced with spider-looking bits
Culture
they may be evil but the nerubians have gotten the worlds worst luck. they are found exclusively in the deepest caves of the realm of famine fighting every waking moment of their lives desperately against the endless tide of insects propelled by Melkors intellect
the only reason nerubians have survived this long is due to their webs, the nerubian webs are carefully placed to act as traps, resist fire, and allow safe retrieval of prey at the same time. this is also why the only thing a nerubian never dies from is hunger.
the nerubains have understandably become a highly paranoid race. their webbing doesnt just cover the entrances but also any point between them and rock. for melkor could dig through if given enough time. any strategy that can be used against the nerubains has been before and they do eveything they can to stop it from happening again
nerubians will never willingly leave their home, not because of any connection with it but simply because they know that if they do melkor will kill them, after all the only reason they've lived this long is because underground there isnt enough space for melkor to fully manifest
nerubains are alot more advanced then one might expect, being fully capable of armoring themselves and their cities have beautiful and complicated architecture. even though they are generally lawful evil they act as if chaotic evil at all times opting to kill anything that may compromise their defenses out of fear that melkor will use that chance to get in. because of which seeing said architecture is no simple feat.
should a nerubian be engaged in battle it will almost immediately rout. preferring their opponent get further trapped in webbing before they proceed. once one is trapped enough to be barely able to move a nerubain will encase its victim in web then inject their venom into the cocoon melting them. once the nerubian feels the melting process is complete they will simply drink the remains
ever-present death is the nerubian expectation, to simplify the process nerubians partially mummify themselves alive by preventing all moister from coming in contact with their exoskeletons, covering it with salt, then covering themselves with bandages to make things easier for their kin.
