the monster that is the manticore is frightful to behold having the head of a man, body of a lion, and wings of a bat. it specifically targets intelligent races for food and women

Culture

mostly found roaming the realm of war to kidnap any amazons it can or feed off pigmen the manticore arent uncommonly seen even on the edges of dwarven mountains. the manticore are a horrible race much like pigmen that hunt after the woman of intelligent races to breed

the manticore has a low level of intellect purely to help it differentiate intelligent races in can breed with from beasts however manticores also has a particular taste for intelligent races so will always prefer to hunt them.

once a female is captured and brought to its home the manticore will carefully wound her so that she cannot leave. in addition the manticores mouth houses aggressive bacteria that kills other dangerous bacteria and parasites. making any food it chews on equivalent to cured meat. because of which it can use its mouth to force-feed the captured female food that wont make her sick and keep its young healthy

manticores will breed at any given opportunity and when they do they can have many children but this is rare and most of the time they are only able to have a few children before the female is saved and the manticore either flees or is killed. charm beast works on manticores but it works excessively well if the caster is female, the lovestruck manticore will immediately try to rape said castor. manticore children leave to live on their own immediately after birth

in combat the manticore will always prefer to engage in direct combat clawing, biting, and hitting with its spiked tail. but if this is not possible or difficult then the maticore will use its tail much like a quill fiend fireing spikes from its tail with a mixture of momentum and propulsion and show surprising accuracy

the only use for a captured manticore is as an trap, unleashing it upon enemies if they enter an area. it will ignore any attempts to train it and always try to use its lesser intellect to try and kill you, even if you raised it. just like pigmen manticores show an extreme fear to medusa

History

some people say that the manticore is the remnant of the first humans to enter the realm of war, sarteks influence twisting them to such an extent they are a bastardized form of what they once were
