Also known as the "Gorgon" she has serpents for hair, fangs for teeth, the upper body of a woman, and the lower body of a snake most know, and fear, the medusa. she can turn a monster into stone just by looking at it and her venom can kill a man in seconds
Culture
the medusa is an intelligent monster capable of outsmarting its prey by pretending to be a normal woman from the distance or the dark then suddenly turning to reveal her true form petrifying any onlookers
while she can petrify from a distance if the enemies eyesight is good enough she risks revealing herself to too many enemies and will generally avoid such a tactic.
contrary to popular belief a medusa does not turn all of the person it looks at to stone. only the flesh and muscle, the organs are untouched and the cause of death is normally asphyxiation. once it feels safe and is hungry it will simply topple the statue and gravity will reveal its food.
because of this a "stone to flesh" spell will not revive somone killed by petrification from a medusa. a revive spell is still needed (please remember to do the spell order STF-revive not the other way around)
medusa can be found anywhere but they prefer to live in ruins where passerby will let down their guard upon seeing a 'human'. if a medusa can confirm that there is only one enemy it will focus on trying to kill with arrows or any melee means covered with its venom so it has more to eat.
despite being an all-female race medusa breed in a similar way to how they eat. the male testis, much like any other organ, is unharmed by the petrification process and upon collection the medusa simply empties the fluid into itself in order to fertilize its eggs. the children always result in medusa. it should be noted that a medusa will never knowingly impregnate itself using a Pigman, Satyr, or Manticore.
