On 10 Nov 1800 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Jacob Potts of Walsingham Twp., Norfolk Co. yeoman for 200 acres of land in Lots 14 and 15 Concession 5 Willoughby Twp. as per Order in Council dated 21 Jul 1797. (Willoughby Township Papers 0290)


Price, Joseph

On 24 Jun 1804 Attorney General Thomas Scott gave a grant to Joseph Price of Willoughby Twp., yeoman for 200 acres of land in Lot 18 in front of Concession 1 Willoughby Twp. on the River Niagara nearly opposite the north end of Grand Island as per 9th Claim Niagara Commissioners 1804. On 28 Jun 1804 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Joseph Price of Willoughby Twp., yeoman for 128 acres of land in Lot 18 in front of Concession 1 Willoughby Twp. on the River Niagara nearly opposite the north end of Grand Island as per 9 Claim Niagara Commission. Roe, Richard

Record of the Kings Bench District of Niagara dated 15 Jun 1827: Richard Roe was attached to and [….] to John Doe of a plea wherefore he the said Richard Roe with force and arms entered into Lots number fourteen and fifteen in the fifth concession of the Township of Willoughby… four messages, four cottages, four barns, four gardens, four orchards, four hundred acres of arable land, four hundred acres of meadow land, four hundred acres of pasture and four hundred acres of wood land and four hundred acres of other land situate and being in the Township of Willoughby which Samuel Street and James Cummings heir at law of Thomas Cummings deceased had demised to the said John Doe… other wrongs to the said John Doe then and there did the great damage of the said John Doe and against the peace of our Lord the King and thereupon the said John Doe by Robert Dickson his attorney complains that whereas the said Samuel Street and James Cummings on the first day of March in the eighth year of the reign of our Lord the King had demised the said tenements with the appurtenances to the said John Doe for the term of ten years and being so possessed the said Richard Roe afterwards on the second day of March in the year aforesaid with force and arms entered into the said premises and ejected the said John Doe from his said farm… damage to the amount of two hundred pounds and therefore he brings his suit.
