On 31 Jan 1807 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to James Thomas of Niagara Twp., yeoman for Lot 110 in Newark (Niagara) Twp. as per Order in Council 13 Jan 1807. (Niagara Township Papers 0457, 0458)


Thompson, Robert

On 18 Jun 1795 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Robert Thompson of Niagara Twp., yeoman for ½ acre in Lot 46 in the Town of Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0225)


Thorn/Thorne, William

On 29 Apr 1823, Robert Addison, Minister of Niagara gave permission to William Thorn to occupy the north half of the 200 acres of Glebe Land at present held by William Dorress, to pay the same rent that the said Dorress is engaged to pay and if William Dorress has no claim to the said Lot, Mr. Thorn is to tae immediate possession, if the said Dorress has a claim, he must be first settled with. This is to continue while the Glebe is in my charge. Signed Robert Addison. Added note: Received of Mr. William Thorn the sum of six dollars being in full for rent up to the 29th of April 1826. On 1 May 1823 William Dorress of the Township of Niagara sold and gave over to William Thorn of the Township of Stamford all his right, title and possession of Lot 129, being the north half of 200 acres of land in No. 129 and 130 in the Township of Niagara, the same being Glebe land sold for the sum of twenty-five dollars. On 20 Nov 1829 the Executive Council gave a lease to William Thorn of Stamford Twp., clothier for one hundred acres in Lot 129 Niagara Township for a term of twenty-one years, the yearly rent set at one pound fifteen shillings or ten and one-half bushels of wheat for the first seven years then three pounds ten shillings or twenty bushels of wheat for the second seven years, then five pounds five shillings or thirty-one and a half bushels of wheat in the third seven years. On 6 Jan 1831 Thomas Creen, Rector of Niagara sent a statement of account to William Thorne for one year’s rent of Glebe Lot £1.15.0 less overpayment last year .5, balance £1.10.0. Turney, John Jr.

On 29 Mar 1790 the Land Board read the petition of John Turney Junr. for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who on 22 Nov 1790 assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 97 and 98 in the Township of No. 1. (Niagara Township Papers 0422)
