Gilmore, Benjamin

On 3 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Benjamin Gilmore for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 134 in the Township of No. 2. On the reverse Benjamin Gilmore on 17 Feb 1796 assigned to Ebenezer Skinner the within mentioned Lot of Land for the consideration of 20 pounds NYC. Grellenger, George

On 3 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of George Grellenger for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 42 in the Township of No. 2 (Stamford Township Papers 0215)


Green, Charles

On 3 May 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Charles Green for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lot 9 Concessions 5 and 6 in the Township of No. 2. Marginal note: being Lots No. 132 and 133 Stamford. (Stamford Township Papers 0577)


Haggerty, Hugh

On 12 Mar 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Hugh Haggerty for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 2 and 3 Concession 4 in the Township of No. 2. Written in the margin: perhaps the Lots No. 178 and 187. (Stamford Township Papers 0732)

On 24 Oct 1795 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Hugh Haggerty for two hundred acres of land in Lots 178 and 187 Stamford Twp. (Stamford Township Papers 0735)


Heaslip, Joseph

On 5 Oct 1794 the Land Board read the petition of Joseph “Haslep” for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor D. W. Smith who on 11 Oct 1794 assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 203 and 204 in the Township of No. 2 (Stamford Township Papers 0782)

On 5 Oct 1794 the Land Board read the petition of Joseph Heaslip for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor D. W. Smith who on 11 Oct 1794 assigned to him four hundred acres in Lots 202, 203 and 204 in the Township of No. 2. Added note: James Heaslip personally appeared at the office and said that his name being on 202 was a mistake. (Stamford Township Papers 0785)

On 15 Feb 1799 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Joseph “Haslip” for four hundred acres of land in Lots 202, 203 and 204 upon the north side of the Chippewa or River Welland in Stamford Twp. (Stamford Township Papers 0787)


Hixon, Henry

On 15 Jan 1805 The Executive Council of Upper Canada ordered a description issued for the claim of Henry Hixon on Lot 86 Stamford Twp. under the Report of the 68th Claim of the Niagara Commission in 1803 and the deed for the above to Timothy Hixon impounded. (Stamford Township Papers 0410)

On 15 Jan 1805 The Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Henry Hixon of Clinton Twp., yeoman for Lots 64 and 69 Stamford Twp. as per 68th Claim Niagara Commission 1803. (Stamford Township Papers 0412)


Hixon, Timothy

On 3 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Timothy Hixon for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 86 in the Township of No. 2 (Stamford Township Papers 0407)

On 15 Jan 1805 The Executive Council of Upper Canada ordered a description issued for the claim of Henry Hixon on Lot 86 Stamford Twp. under the Report of the 68th Claim of the Niagara Commission in 1803 and the deed for the above to Timothy Hixon impounded. (Stamford Township Papers 0410)


Hoover, George

The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 66 and 67 in the Township of No. 2 (Stamford Township Papers 0311)


Hopkins, William

On 28 Sep 1793 the Land Board read the petition of William Hopkins for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. Note in the margin: Gore between Townships No. 2 and 9. (Stamford Township Papers 0863)


Hutt, Adam

On 9 Feb 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Adam Hutt for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 2 (Stamford) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 9 and 10 in the Township of No. 2. Written in the margin: 16 acres to Lambert Aker by 8th claim of Niagara Commission Sept. 1809 of the above two hundred acres March 7th 1809. (Stamford Township Papers 0110)

On 30 Jun 1800 the Government of Upper Canada gave a grant to Adam Hutt of Grantham Twp., yeoman for the west end of Lot 9 Stamford Twp. as per 33rd Claim Niagara Commission 1800. (Stamford Township Papers 0094)

On 20 Apr 1805 John Beikie, Deputy Clerk of The Executive Council wrote to Attorney General Thomas Scott with an order made on the back of a deed dated 7 Mar 1804 signed by Lieutenant Governor Hunter granting to Adam Hutt of Stamford Twp., yeoman, a tract of land containing one hundred and eighty-four acres in Lot 10, Stamford Twp. and Lot 12 in the Gore of Stamford and Lot 29 Stamford Twp. On 8 Apr 1805 Thomas Scott ordered the deed be issued (Stamford Township Papers 0094)
