Johnson, Henry

On 29 Mar 1790 the Land Board read the petition of Nathan Fields for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who on 28 Jun 1790 assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 18 in the Township of No. 1. Note of the Land Board dated [..] Jan 1791 written on the reverse: A petition having been presented by Nathan Fields requesting the permission of the Board to dispose of the Lots to Isaac Sweazy and he also having requested to transfer the same to Henry Johnston—The Board having considered the propriety of the request do hereby confirm the sale and Henry Johnston`s name shall stand in this Lot for that of Nathan Fields. Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Henry Johnson for one hundred acres of land in Lot 29 Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0166)

On 15 Sep 1800 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Henry Johnson of Niagara Twp., yeoman for 100 acres in Lot 18 Concession 1 Niagara Twp. Added note: The above mentioned Land was transferred and confirmed by the late land board to the Grantee; the original nominee was Nathan Fields. (Niagara Township Papers 0128)

Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Henry Johnson (transferred from Nathan Fields) for one hundred acres of land in Lot 18 in front on the Niagara River Newark (Niagara) Twp. with the Land Board certificate transferred by the Board to Henry Johnson and assignment by Mr. Jones (Niagara Township Papers 0130)

Jones, James B.

On 17 Jul 1807 James B. Jones of the Town of Niagara, gentleman appeared before the Commission to Ascertain Titles to Land. Claim No. 25. Claimed and was allowed Lot No. 102 in the said Twon of Niagara containing one acre, Lieutenant Thomas Paxton the original nominee. (Niagara Township Papers 0433)

On 18 Nov 1807 Samuel Ridout prepared a receipt for the Land Granting Officers Fees on Lot No. 102 in the Town of Niagara allowed to James B. Jones unde4r 25th Claim Commissioners Report in July 1817 £2.10.2 (Niagara Township Papers 0431)


Kemp, Robert

On 11 Jul 1803 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Robert Kemp of Niagara Twp., farmer for Lot 75 Niagara Twp. as per 58th Claim Niagara Commission 1803. (Niagara Township Papers 0357)

On 20 Jul 1803 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Robert Kemp of Niagara Twp., farmer for one hundred acres of land in Lot 75 Niagara Twp. as per 58th Claim Niagara Commission 1803. Lambert, Cornelius (Corporal)

On 3 May 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Corporal Cornelius Lambert for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 144 and 145 in the Township of No. 1. (Niagara Township Papers 0599)

On 3 May 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Corporal Cornelius Lambert for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 146 in the Township of No. 1. (Niagara Township Papers 0603)

On 7 Nov 1796 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Corporal Cornelius Lambert for three hundred acres of land in Lots 144, 145 and 146 Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0606)


Lampman, Peter

On 10 Feb 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Peter Lampman for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lot 182 in the Township of No. 1. (Niagara Township Papers 0704)

Lawe, ______

An unsigned and undated page noting Mr. Lawe says the course of the northern boundary line of the Township of Niagara is N 88 ½ W which makes 5 chains more that the measurement at the head of the 4rd Concession and about 9 chains at the head of the town. He wishes to obtain the overplus on his Lot No. 69. (Niagara Township Papers 0021)

Lottridge, Robert (Capt.)

In a letter dated at Barton on 14 Jul 1800 John and William Lottridge wrote to Acting Surveyor General Thomas Ridout stating Mr. Beasley informed them Ridout could not give the description out of his office for the heirs of the Capt. Robert Lottridge until he had information who they were. Sarah Lottridge widow, George Lottridge, John Lottridge, Robert Lottridge, William Lottridge. They sent £10/6 to pay Mr. Small for the Caveat and will be obliged to Ridout to get the Order of Council from him and send the description of Lot No. 65 in the Township of Newark 3rd Concession as also the description of their lands as heirs in the town of Barton.
