On 18 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of George Darby for a grant of 200 acres of land in the Township No. 3 (Grantham) and found him qualified for a grant of 200 acres. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 14 and 15 Concession 3 in the Township of No. 3. (Grantham Township Papers 0183)

On 22 Feb 1803 The Executive Council of Upper Canada of Upper Canada gave a grant to John Darbie of the Township of Grantham, yeoman for two hundred acres in the broken Lot 14 in the broken front of Grantham Twp. under 35^th Claim 1^st Niagara Commission 1803. (Grantham Township Papers 0233)

Ellis, John

Extract from the report of lands claimed before the Commissioners for the County of Lincoln and allowed, dated Newark 8^th May 1798. John Ellis 12-7^th –100-Grantham-Joseph Brown. It appears by the Surveyor Generals Report dated 12^th July 1798, on the above mentioned Commissioners Report, that no description had then issued for the above mentioned lot.
