Egan, John

On 22 Jun 1802 Robert Stuart appeared before Acting Surveyor General David William Smith and made oath that Lots 30 and 31 near Point Abino in Bertie Twp. contains a pond covering fifty acres of land which fifty acres were made up to John Egan in the rear of Lot 28 Concession 1. On 18 Aug 1804 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Robert Stuart of Bertie Twp., yeoman for 150 acres of land in the front halves of Lots 30 and 31 Front Concession Bertie Twp. as per Claim 38 of the Niagara Commission dated in April and May 1803 and Attorney General approval dated 17 Aug 1804. This noted John Egan was the original nominee (Bertie Township Papers 0064)

Elsworth, David

On 18 Nov 1844 David Elsworth wrote to Papineau, Esq., Agent for Crown Lands stating his wish to purchase sixteen acres on the north part of Lot 34 Broken Front Bertie Twp. and asked if it was vacant and the price. He was very anxious to obtain it as he lately purchased the remainder of the hundred acres, i.e. eighty-four acres granted to one Frederick Sager. (Bertie Township Papers 0085)

On 19 Nov 1844, Thomas C. Street wrote to Surveyor General Thomas Parke, Esq. In reference to the map of the township of Bertie and a description of the lots as furnished the District Treasurer for the purpose of assessment, he found Lot 34 Front Concession granted as follows: Obadiah Dennis south part 175 acres; Francis Ellsworth centre part 100 acres; Francis Segar north end 84 acres. Street noted a matter of dispute had lately taken place with the occupier as respects the precise portion of Segar’s 84 acres. Street inquired if the whole of the lot was actually granted or if the Crown meant to reserve and actually reserved the 16 acres alluded to. (Bertie Township Papers 0095)

Feere, Peter

In an undated note, Peter Feere stated he gave all his claim to Lot 2 Concession 9 Bertie Twp. to Frederick Anker. (Bertie Township Papers 0674)

Feero, Andrew

On 26 Apr 1794 the Land Board read the petition of Andrew Feero for a grant of 100 acres of land in the Township No. Fort Erie (Bertie) and found him qualified to receive a lot. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him 100 acres in Lot 14 Concession 11 from the Niagara River of Township No. Fort Erie (Bertie Township Papers 0727)

On 26 Apr 1794 the Land Board granted permission to Andrew Feero to transfer Lot 14 Concession 11 to Parshall Terry (Bertie Township Papers 0729)

Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Andrew Feero and transferred to Parshall Terry for 100 acres of land in Lot 14 Concession 11 from the Niagara River Bertie Twp. (Bertie Township Papers 0725)

Follmer/Fulmer, Jacob

On 23 Apr 1828 Jacob Follmer sent to Hon. Peter Robinson sundry papers relative to his application for Glebe Lots in Bertie Twp. Signed Jacob Follmer. (Bertie Township Papers 0569)

On 12 Jun 1828 Jacob Fulmer wrote to Hon. Peter Russell asking under what terms he could obtain the Glebe Lots he applied for. Signed Jacob Fulmer. (Bertie Township Papers 0571)

On 31 Oct 1828 John Warren wrote to Hon. Peter Robinson saying sometime last spring Jacob Fulmer made application through his recommendation for a lease or license of occupation for Glebe Lots 6 and 7 in the 6th Concession of Bertie Twp. since when he has not heard the result of said application and has now gone to York to make further inquiry. Fulmer is a man of some property and has a very industrious family. He has built a good log house on one of those lots and cleared four acres of land. (Bertie Township Papers 0573)

On 17 Jan 1829 Jacob Fulmer wrote to Peter Robinson Esqr. concerning the land on which he now resided asking if it is for sale and if not he would be glad if he would make him a lease. He would make preparations for erecting a barn in the spring. (Bertie Township Papers 0575)

Forsyth, Daniel

On 13 Apr 1792 the Land Board read the petition of John Gregory for a grant of 200 acres of land in the Township of Fort Erie (Bertie) behind the marsh and found him qualified to receive a lot. Note of the Land Board on the reverse: “The Bearer, John Gregory having petitioned this Board for leave to dispose of the within named Lots No. 15 & 16 in the 2nd Concession of Fort Erie Township to Daniel Forsyth the Board therefore direct the aforesaid lots to be Transferred to the said Daniel Forsyth. Furria/Furyea, John

On 17 May 1792 John Furria received from John Garner a note of hand for ten pounds NY Currency payable for a lot of land containing one hundred acres more or less situated on Dep[r]ans Creek the rear of George Wintermutes. John Furria made his mark, witnessed by Parshall Terry (Bertie Township Papers 0624)

On 17 May 1792 John Furya certified that he sold to John Garner his improveent and claim to Lot 14 Concession 7 of Fort Erie Township for ten pounds NY Currency. John Forya made his mark, witnessed by Parshall Terry. (Bertie Township Papers 0626)

On 17 May 1792 John Garner signed a promissory note that he would pay to John Furia ten pounds NY Currency for his improvement on Depras Creek. Witnessed by John Troyer and Parshall Terry. John Furia certified he received on the within note six bushels of wheat £2.00, Mr. Garner paid to Mr. Docstader for him £2.14.0, he had one calf £0.10.0, Mr. Garner had [J]of [J]other of me to the amount of four shillings to be taken out of the calf skin which leaves five pound of said not due to Furya from Mr. Garner.
