On 12 Jul 1794 the Land Board read the petition of David Deomud for a grant of one acre of land in the Town of Newark (Niagara) and found him qualified and assigned to him Town Lot 235. Note pf W. Dickson, William (Honorable)

On 7 Dec 1793 the Land Board read the petition of David Secord for a grant of one acre of land in the Town of Newark (Niagara) and found him qualified and assigned to him Town Lot 64. On 3 Sep 1797 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for William Dickson Esq. for 24 acres of land commencing one chain from the Niagara River in the Township of Newark under an Order In Council of 8 Oct 1796. (Niagara Town Papers 0350)

On 26 May 1798 William Dickson wrote to Acting Surveyor General David William Smith Esquire stating Donald McDonell who listed in the Volunteers had a Town Lot No. 253 which he has sold to Dickson and has since deserted. He asked that the Attorney General withhold the deed until he gets the consent of The Executive Council of Upper Canada to have the deed made out in his own name. (Niagara Town Papers 0358)

Donald McDonell wrote an undated letter to Acting Surveyor General David Wm. Smith stating Mr. Dickson, having purchased his Lot Number 253 in the Town of Newark, should he have an inclination to change it for another unappropriated lot he has my sanction. (Niagara Town Papers 0348)

On 17 Sep 1801 William Dickson wrote to Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith stating he certified the name of Christopher Robinson being on the Town Map for Niagara and on Lot number 151. (Niagara Town Papers 0361)

Undated grant during the reign of King George IV to Honorable William Claus Esquire, Honorable William Dickson Esquire and Honorable James Muirhead Esquire of the Town of Niagara two acres of land in Lots 65 and 66 in the Town of Niagara to hold as a site for a market house. Duggan, Cornelius

On 29 Jan 1795 Peter Russell wrote to the Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith that it appeared from a certificate signed by Mr. Muirhead the Town Warden, that Cornelius Duggan has improved Lot No. 185 in the Town of Newark (Niagara) agreeable to his engagement with the Land Board of this District and since the disposition of that Board there being no existing authority in this place under which the surveyor can grant an assignment of the said lot, Russell took it upon himself to authorize Smith to assign the said Lot 185 to Cornelius Duggan. On 8 Apr 1817 The Executive Council of Upper Canada of Upper Canada gave a grant to ­­­­­William Dunbar of the Town of Queenston, yeoman for the broken front of Lot No. 1 in the Township of Bertie being a mill site containing about twenty acres from the water’s edge.
