Campbell, Robert
On 18 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Robert Campbell for a grant of 200 acres of land in the Township No. 3 (Grantham) and found him qualified for a grant of 200 acres. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 18 and 19 Concession 8 in the Township of No. 3. (Grantham Township Papers 0695)
On 18 Jan 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Robert Campbell for a grant of 200 acres of land in the Township No. 3 (Grantham) and found him qualified for a grant of 200 acres. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 18 Concession 9 in the Township of No. 3. (Grantham Township Papers 0762)

Clement, John P.
On 8 Jul 1806 William Osterholt of the Township of Louth, yeoman wrote that he was many years possessed of a certificate under the authority of the Land Board for the District of Niagara for Lots Number Three in the Seventh and Eighth Concessions of the Township of Grantham containing two hundred acres. He thereafter relinquished the same to John P. Clement by a transfer thereof before the said Board which certificate with the transfer thereof under an assignment from the Surveyor General it is suggested was delivered to the late Attorney General Mr. White and now said to be lost; and whereas a patent hath issued to him for said Lot Number Tree in the Seventh Concession as well as two hundred acres in the Township of Scarborough completing his grant or allowance of land he was entitled to as a disbanded soldier. William Osterholt relinquished all right to Lot Number Three in the Eighth Concession of said Township of Grantham to the intent that the said John P. Clement or his Attorney William Dickson of Niagara, Esquire made cause the name of any other person entitle to a location of land to be entered on the said lot in the books or maps of the Surveyor Genera; that a patent may issue for the same whereby the said John Clement or those claiming under him through the Patentee may obtain an estate of inheritance therein. On 27 Oct 1807 William Chewett J. P. wrote John P. Clement, late Lieut. In the Indian Department residing in the Township of Niagara personally appeared before him and swore that he possessed the Land Board Certificate to William Osterholt assigned by the Surveyor General and transferred by the Land Board to the said deponent John P. Clement for Lot No. 3 in the 7th and 8th Concessions of the Township of Grantham, being two hundred acres, and also certificates of the Land Board to the said deponent John P. Clement as original nominee for Lots Nos. 56 and 83 in the Township of Niagara being two hundred acres, comprehending in the whole four hundred acres, Signed John P. Clement. On 11 Jun 1803 William Dickson wrote a memorandum to Messrs. Chewett and Ridout, Acting Surveyors General stating searches are wanted for the following persons locations: Peter Secord Junr. Lots 135 and 136 in the Township of Niagara; Donald McDonald Lot 253 in the Town of Niagara; John Rock Lot 179 in the Town of Niagara; William Osterholt Lot 3 in 7 and 8th Concession Grantham. This was by authority of The Land Board—transferred to John Clement and the certificate assignment and transfer lodged with Mr. White late Attorney General, yet cannot be now found. On 23 Aug 1806 John P. Clement of Niagara, late a Lieutenant in the Indian Department expressed his satisfaction that Elias Smith of Niagara may be located on Lot No. 3 in the Eight Concession of Grantham, the farm having been originally assigned to Clement by the Land Board, but the evidences thereof having been lost in the Office of the Attorney General. Having sold the farm to George Adams, who for his benefit has procured the above location to be made in the name of Elias Smith. Signed John P. Clement and William Dickson.
