MacKay, John

On 31 May 1804 John MacKay of the Town of Niagara, merchant for one hundred and twenty-five pounds sold to Isaac Swayze two hundred acres in Lots 151 and 172 Niagara Twp. Signed John MacKay. Witnessed by Benj. Gilbert and Peter Wheeler. Added note of Samuel Ridout: Peter Whitney has the deed for Lot 152 Township Niagara. A description has issued from the Surveyor Generals Office for Lot No. 152 in the Township of Newark now Niagara for P. Whitney. (Niagara Township Papers 0668)

Maracle, Frederick

On 21 Jun 1794 the Land Board read the petition of Frederick Maracle for a grant of one hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lot 116 in the Township of No. 1. (Niagara Township Papers 0469)

On 21 Oct 1796 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Frederick Maracle for one hundred acres of land in Lot 116 Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0472)

Markle, Solomon

In a letter of 4 Sep 1818 from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office to Surveyor General Thomas Ridout a description of the Clergy Glebe lot no. 126 in the Township of Niagara was requested for a license of occupation to Solomon Markle of the said Township. (Niagara Township Papers 0508)

McDonell, Allan

On 12 Apr 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Allan McDonell for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 12 and 34 in the Township of No. 1. Added note of the Land Board dated 12 Apr 1792: The Board authorize the transfer of the within Lots from Allan McDonnell to James Ramsay and direct them to remain the property of James Ramsay (Niagara Township Papers 0101)

On 20 May 1797 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Allan McDonell transferred to James Ramsay for 208 acres of land in Lots 12 and 34 Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0104)

McDonell, John

On 15 Jan 1799 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for John McFarland for 308 acres of land in Lots 22, 23 and 25 and broken front Newark (Niagara) Twp. with Order in Council 22 Jun 1795 in favor of John McFarland—the above being lands entered for John McDonell. McFarland, John

On 9 Aug 1794 the Land Board granted Lots 63 and 64 Newark (Niagara) Twp. to John McFarland as assignee of David Beaty. The Land Board certified that McFarland had a regular assinment from Beaty for his lands. McFarland expects the deed in his name. (Niagara Township Papers 0306)

On 21 Mar 1797 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to John McFarland for Lot 21 Township of Newark (Niagara). (Niagara Township Papers 0144)

On 28 Mar 1797 the Executive Council of Upper Canada ordered a grant to Robert McKinley of Niagara, yeoman a gore of land adjoining his Lot No. 184 in the Township of Niagara if practicable or proper. (Niagara Township Papers 0715)

On 20 Jul 1803 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Robert McKinlay of the Township of Niagara, yeoman for one hundred acres of land in Lot 184 Newark (Niagara) Twp. as per the 32^nd Claim Niagara Commission. On 18 Aug 1795 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared an undated surveyor’s assignment for Edward McMichael for 45 acres of land commencing about a chain and a half from the east bank of the Three Mile Creek…., Newark (Niagara) Twp. (Niagara Township Papers 0175)

Millard, Noah

On 12 Jul 1796 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave an Order in Council to Noah Millard son of Thomas Millard (U. E.) for 200 acres. (Niagara Township Papers 0142)

In a letter of 14 Aug 1810 from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office to Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout a description of the Lots No. 128 and 130 in the Township of Niagara was requested for a license of occupation to Thomas Merritt Esquire of the said Township. (Niagara Township Papers 0516)

Murray, Isabella

On 12 Apr 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Widow Isabella Murray for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 1 (Niagara) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land.
