Ostrander, Andrew

On 19 Jun 1803 William Dickson wrote requesting any lands to Andrew Ostrander in the Gore between Niagara and Stamford to Andrew Ostrander be withheld, as William Vanevery has a prior claim upon part of that land that is opposite to Edmund Horton and for which Edmund Horton has an order in Council for; but by said Horton’s consent this was relinquished about three years ago to Ostrander and VanEvery in Mr. Jones’ presence when he was running the lines, the deed to come out in Ostranders name, and Vaneverys part to be made over to him by Ostrander. This Ostrander under some pretext evades doing it whereupon it is necessary to bring the transaction before the Commissioners. (Thorold Township Papers 0586)


Ostrander, Isaac

On 9 Feb 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Isaac Ostrander for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found he has received two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 as a Loyalist and he has settled on and improved the same and that he is entitled to a further assignment of one hundred acres for his wife and one child. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him one hundred acres in Lot 5 Concession 7 in the Township of No. 9. Marginal note of D. W. On 10 Feb 1791 the Land Board read the petition of ____ for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lot 5 Concessions 5 and 6 in the Township of No. 9. Added note of D. W. Ostrander, Peter

On 9 Feb 1791 the Land Board read the petition of Peter Ostrander for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lot 6 Concessions 5 and 6 in the Township of No. 9. Marginal note: 71 & 94. On 28 Mar 1797 Acting Surveyor General D. W. Smith prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Peter Ostrander for two hundred acres of land in Lots 71 and 94 Thorold Twp. (Thorold Township Papers 0192)


Overholt, Abraham

On 29 Dec 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Abraham Overholt for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 22 and 23 Concession 9 in the Township of No. 9. Marginal note: 156, 157. On 29 Dec 1792 the Land Board read the petition of Abraham Overholt for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 21 and 22 Concession 10 in the Township of No. 9. Marginal note: 161, 162. Robins, Blackly

On 3 May 1794 the Land Board read the petition of Blackly Robins for a grant of two hundred acres of land in Township No. 9 (Thorold) and found him qualified to receive two hundred acres of land. The order was referred to Acting Surveyor General Augustus Jones who assigned to him two hundred acres in Lots 156 and 194 in the Township of No. 9. Marginal note: 255. On 20 Jul 1803 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Job Robins of Thorold Twp., yeoman for 100 acres of land in Lot 191 Thorold Twp. as per 51st Claim Niagara Commission 1803. Added note: Joshua Robins original nominee (Thorold Township Papers 0457)

On 4 Nov 1803 the Executive Council of Upper Canada gave a grant to Job Robins of Thorold Twp., yeoman for Lot 191 Thorold Twp. as per 51st Claim Niagara Commission Aug 1803. (Thorold Township Papers 0459)


Robins, Sarah

On 12 Jun 1806 Acting Surveyors General Chewett and Ridout prepared a surveyor’s assignment for Sarah Robins for two hundred acres of land in Lots 192 and 193 Thorold Twp. as per an Order in Council dated 8 Oct 1796. Added certificate: Thorold 23 May 1805. This is to Sartify that Sarah Robins Has lived on the Lots 192 & 193 in the township of Thorold this Eight years.
