Newall, Robert

On 10 Apr 1834 The Executive Council read the petition of Robert Newall stating he applied and paid for the patent in 1826 to Mr. Heward, then Secretary to the Clergy Corporation for Lots numbers three in the fifth Concession and three in the sixth concession of the Township of Grantham, and was promised a lease of the said lots. He understands they have been set apart as Glebes which prevents him from obtaining the lease. He requested such grant of occupancy as this particular description of land admits. The Council ordered that as the lots prayed for were set apart as Glebes, and the petitioner was found not to reside or have resided there, they have been granted to the incumbent for the purposes originally intended.
