Jalapeno Popper Hot Dogs

What you need:

    • 8 oz. cream cheese
    • 1 jalapeno, minced
    • Bacon bits
    • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
    • 8 hot dogs
    • 8 hot dog buns
    • Cilantro for garnish

Directions:

    1. Place 1/2 cup water in a large skillet. Add hot dogs and cook over medium-high heat until the water evaporates.
    2. Add 2 Tbsp. butter and cook hot dogs for for 5 to 6 minutes, browning on all sides.
    3. Meanwhile, stir together cream cheese, 1 Tbsp. minced jalapeno, 3 Tbsp. crumbled bacon, and 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese in a medium bowl. Salt and pepper to taste.
    4. Spread 1 to 2 Tbsp. cream cheese mixture onto each hot dog bun.
    5. Top with a hot dog then sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
    6. Place on a foil lined baking sheet and broil for about 30 seconds or until cheese melts.
    7. Garnish with cilantro, if desired, and serve.
