Fried Pickle Burgers
What you need:
For the burger sauce:
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup diced pickles
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
For the fried pickles:
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 jar dill pickle chips
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
For the burgers:
- 2 lb. ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Lettuce
- Hamburger buns
- American cheese
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix together burger sauce ingredient and chill in refrigerator.
- Form beef into 6 to 8 patties and set aside.
- For the pickles: place buttermilk in a bowl. Then add cornmeal, flour, pepper, and cayenne in a separate bowl.
- Drain pickles and pat dry. Dip pickles in milk and then cornmeal mixture.
- Heat an inch of oil to 375 degrees. Cook until golden brown on each side. Remove to a paper towel lined plate.
- Meanwhile, cook burgers until done, flipping once.
- Serve burgers with cheese, lettuce, burger sauce, and fried pickles.
