5-Ingredient Taco Braid
What you need:
- 1 seamless crescent roll dough
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 pkg. taco seasoning
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- Desired toppings (lettuce, jalapenos, tomato, avocado, sour cream, etc.)
Directions:
- Brown and crumble ground beef in a large skillet. Drain, if needed.
- Stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Set aside.
- Place crescent dough on a baking sheet that has been lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- Make slices down the sides about an inch apart, leave about 3 inches in the center for the filling.
- Spread ground beef mixture down the center and then top with 1 cup cheese.
- Braid the strips, taking one side and folding it over the center. Then take a strip from the other side and fold over the center.
- Pinch the ends to seal and then sprinkle with the remainder of the cheese.
- Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing, topping, and serving.
