Most age groups finished for 2011

The U6’s, U8’s and U10’s finished off their season with internal blitzes last weekend (in the case of the 6’s & 8’s) and with a hurling blitz in Ahane in the case of the U10’s. The U12’s have a few more U11/U13 games to play but will finish in the coming weeks. The U14’s finished a few weeks back with a blitz in Clooney Quinn. The U16’s finished last Monday, contesting the U16 plate final. That concludes the year for the juvenile club, although the minor footballers have a replayed North Tipp final to play yet.

It was another year that saw many youngsters learn to hold a hurley for the first time, others learned to rise or strike the ball after a huge investment of their own time to perfect the skill. Others learned to look up and see a pass and many, many others just enjoyed the fun and camaraderie on sunny (?) Saturday mornings. If you would like to be involved in the club in 2012, please contact any coach or officer or email us. Everyone is welcome and the club is for everyone. To the coaches who volunteer each week the club says a huge thank you. You are the ones who put the hours in each week for the benefit of all of our children - and there isn’t much glamour going with these positions I can assure you! To the parents – thank you for your support and flexibility without which we would not have a club community. Finally, if you are a parent of a registered child and you did not get a 2011 survey invitation, of if you have any feedback that will make our club a better place for our children, please email ballinagaaclub@gmail.com.
