U12 hurlers had an enjoyable outing in Mungret at the Liam O'Donoghue

Tournament last Sunday. Many of our players had endured a bruising

encounter on the rugby field with the U13s earlier in the day so great

credit to those boys for the huge effort they put in on both pitches

for their respective teams. We also had a good few U10s playing so it

was a great opportunity for them.

On a blustery day we found ourselves behind early in the first match

to a towering Michael Cusacks side. Though they battled gamely in the

second half, defeat was our lot. In the next game we squared up to

Clarecastle. Again we trailed at half time but a massive team effort

saw the lads trail by just two points at the end. That put us in the C

final where Cork representatives Ballinhassig awaited. Though now

visibly tiring, the Ballina boys put in a great display to beat the

rebel side. Well done to the players and coaches and a special thank

you to parents for your support today and all through the year.
