Senior Notes:

5-year plan:

We are in the initial stages of drawing up a 5-year plan under the chairmanship of Peter King. If you feel that you would like to make an input to the immediate to mid term future direction of the club, please email your thoughts and comments to secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie mentioning "5-year Plan" in subject matter, particularly if living away from home.

Senior Hurling Challenge Cup:

Moycarkey/Borris 0-14; Ballina 1-10.

Ballina travelled to Littleton to play the home side in round 2B of the challenge Cup. Ballina started slowly & Moycarkey raced into a 6-point lead. Bit by bit, Ballina came back into the game & closed the gap. However like the Loughmore game, Ballina just couldn't get the vital score & last out by the bare minimum.

Ballina have been drawn against Killenaule in the Quarter Final of the Holohan Cup in Ballina this weekend. Check fixtures for details.

Ballina Team: Adrian Power; Donal Kent, Aidan Hanley, Jerry O'Brien; Brian O'Connor, Thomas Collins, Kevin Cosgrove; Sean McKeogh, David Hickey; Diarmuid Healy, Patrick Cosgrove, Ronan Bourke; Brian McKeogh, Eoin Kent, Ben King. Subs used: Paddy O'Donovan & Brian Connolly.

Junior B Hurling League:

Ballina will play Borrisokane in Round 1 of the North Tipp Junior B Hurling League in Borrisokane on Sat 28th March. All juniors are asked to make every effort to attend training before this game. Contact Sean Collins, Aaron Devane or Michael Hurley for more details. The league group also includes Borris-Ileigh, Silvermines, Lorrha-Dorrha & Kildangan.

Minor A Football Championship:

Ballina will play Nenagh Eire Og in Nenagh in round 1 of the North Tipp Minor A Football Championship. Ballina are defending champions in this competition & a huge effort will be required to retain this championship. Portroe & Inane Rovers are also in the group.

Tipp Teams:

Well done to the Tipp Senior Hurlers & Michael Breen on a great win over Kilkenny on Sunday. Tipp travel to Cork on Sunday for the last regular league game & will have a Quarter Final the following weekend. Well done to Steven O'Brien & the Tipp Senior Footballers on their win over Louth in Drogheda. Tipp have 6-points from 5 games & still have a very outside chance of promotion.

Best wishes to Steven & Tipp Under-21 footballers on Wednesday night in Semple Stadium against Clare in the Munster Under-21 Football semi-final.

Hard luck to Tipperary Senior Camogie team & Sarah Devane who lost to Galway in the league on Sunday last.

Leinster Schools Cup:

Best wishes to Brendan McKeogh & Cistercian College, Roscrea in the Leinster Schools Rugby Cup Final. This is one of the premier Rugby Competitions in the country & Brendan is part of the back room staff for the Saint Patrick’s Day showdown.
